My Journey
My passion for fishkeeping started at the age of 15 and has since evolved into a lifelong pursuit. Over the years, I’ve gained extensive experience caring for a wide variety of species, from delicate freshwater Discus to vibrant and territorial South American and African Cichlids, and even larger, tank-dominating species like Pacu, Redtail Catfish, and other Amazonian giants.
I’ve also explored the world of marine aquariums, where I cultivated and traded corals with fellow enthusiasts. Today, I proudly maintain a 500-litre mixed reef aquarium, showcasing a custom aquascape I meticulously crafted from 40mm stone. The tank is home to a vibrant collection of Tangs and an array of other captivating marine species, creating a thriving underwater ecosystem.
One of my proudest accomplishments is the design and construction of a 35,000-litre pond, which I stocked with hand-picked Japanese Koi.

Work Experience
Beyond personal experience, I’ve worked in several aquatic retail stores, where I gained valuable industry knowledge and hands-on expertise. I also earned my Ornamental Aquatic Trade Association (OATA) certification, which attests to my commitment to responsible fishkeeping and trade practices, as well as maintaining the highest standards of care.
As a pond specialist for a local landscape gardening company, I maintained high-end ponds for prestigious hotels in Gatwick and London. This role involved the care of valuable Koi, ensuring their health and the aesthetic quality of these luxury aquatic spaces.
How It All Began
In September 2024, after feeling fed up with working for others, I decided it was time to work for myself and build something meaningful that I could one day pass on to my children. Fuelled by my lifelong passion for aquatics, I founded Purewater Diagnostics. With a significant investment in top-tier water testing equipment, including a laboratory-grade API SpinTester, I now offer professional water testing and consultation services across Southeast England.
